Gamepad tester
The controller is read in this tab. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use this tool
Test every button, trigger and stick of a controller and check for stick drift. Nothing is uploaded.
Connect and press a button
Plug in the controller or pair it by Bluetooth, then press any button. Browsers only show a controller after a press.
Press every button
Each button fills while pressed (triggers fill part way) and stays outlined once it has worked, so you can spot a dead one.
Check the sticks
Move both sticks to the edges, then let go. A resting stick should read near 0.00; 0.15 or more is drift.
FAQ
How do I test my controller?
Connect it by USB or Bluetooth and press any button: browsers only show a controller after a button press. Then press every button and move both sticks; each button lights up while pressed and stays marked once it has worked.
How do I check stick drift?
Let go of both sticks. A healthy stick reads close to 0.00; above 0.05 is slight drift that most games hide with a dead zone, and 0.15 or more usually shows in games.
Which controllers work?
Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro and most USB or Bluetooth gamepads. With a “standard” layout the buttons get their names; other pads show numbered buttons and axes.
Why does Test vibration not work?
Vibration needs a browser that supports it (Chrome and Edge do) and a controller with motors. Some Bluetooth connections do not pass it through.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The controller is read in this tab with the Gamepad API; nothing is sent or stored.
